Blackbirds Term 4 Newsletter
Dear Parents and carers of children in Blackbirds,
The big event this term was the arrival of our, as yet unnamed, ‘amazing Blackbirds extension thing’. During the last week off over half term, some people came to put up a canvas tent building ready for the children’s return. What a pleasant surprise it was too. Nobody expected it to be so big. So, in Blackbirds it feels like we have an extra room. This makes such a difference to our space as now we can extend and present more sensory activities like water play, sand play or anything else we decide that is wonderfully messy. For us as well as having more space inside it is like having our own special garden too. This ‘amazing Blackbirds extension thing’ has really come into its own now the weather has started to warm up. Although it is still cold in the mornings, we can still have an outdoor experience. Speaking of the weather, the signs of spring are really starting to appear and like the emerging daffodils, crocuses and blue bells, the Blackbirds children have also begun to flourish. All the time their independence and confidence are growing but their relationships with each other are also really blossoming. It has become a real pleasure to watch the children immersed in their friendly collaborations and games which are so often filled with joyous laughter. Also, this term we have managed a few wonderful trips to the forest which is always a massive highlight in our nursery experiences. Long May it continue.
Best wishes from Joseph, Blackbirds Room Lead, Alex, Deputy Room Lead, and the whole team, Danielle, Naomi, Laurie, Antonia, Natasha, Maddy, Zoe, Helen, Gemma and Lou.
